身為中學生的你,有否想過自己也能走進法院,一嘗在法庭雄辯的滋味呢?
Street Law Hong Kong 舉辦的「模擬法庭暑期學院」載譽歸來,現正招募約 30 位高中學生接受模擬法庭培訓!

今年暑期學院的主題為侵權法(Tort Law,將會以多種有趣互動的活動,讓參加者了解侵權法怎樣影響我們每天的生活和人與人之間的關係。我們今年亦會與其他團體,例如:Denis Chang’s Chambers、香港大律師公會新晉大律師常委會及國際律師事務所Simmons & Simmons 等合作,一起設計各種不同類型的活動。

成為模擬法庭暑期學院的一分子,你將有機會在執業大律師、事務律師和法律系學生的帶領下:

1. 透過城市定向及多個Street Law 體驗式學習工作坊等有趣互動的方式深入了解侵權法中的基本法律原則及其在日常生活中的應用;
2. 透過模擬法庭和準備由執業大律師起草的模擬法庭題目,學習表達和說話技巧,在真實的法庭上進行模擬法庭比賽
3. 參與導賞團,透過互動解說,了解香港司法制度歷史及發展;
4. 到訪律師事務所及大律師辦事處,與不同界別人士交流,了解更多法律行業相關資訊。

The Moot Court Summer School is making its great comeback in 2023! This year, we are recruiting around 30 Secondary students to participate in this exciting event!

The theme for this year’s summer school is Tort Law. Through various interactive activities, all participants will understand how tort law may affect our daily life and interpersonal relationships. This year, we are pleased to be able to collaborate with distinguished partners, such as the Denis Chang’s Chambers, Standing Committee on Young Barristers of the Hong Kong Bar Association (YBC), the Hong Kong Bar Association, and Simmons & Simmons, in designing various kinds of learning activities.

As part of the Moot Court Summer School, you will have the opportunity to be led by barristerssolicitors, and law students too! You will: 

1. Gain an in-depth understanding of fundamental legal principles of tort laws and their applications in daily life through city tours and various Street Law experiential learning workshops; 

2. Acquire advanced presentation and speaking skills through preparation of moot court competitions guided by barristers and participate in moot court competitions in actual courts; 

3. Participate in a guided tour and learn about the history and development of our judiciary system; 

4. Visit law firms and chambers to learn more about the legal industry;

Details:

Date: August 3-7, 2023

Time: 09:00-18:00 (This event will be held at daytime; August 6 will be a rest day as well as preparation day for the competition)                            

Venue: Simmons & Simmons and Fullness Social Enterprises Society  (TBC) 

Fee: $3000 (Early bird discount: $2500)

*Activity will be conducted in both Cantonese and English  

Fee remission:

Eligible* applicants for fee remission are entitled to participate in the event at $1500.  
*Quotas are limited. Places are allocated according to the priority of needs of the students. 
*All applicants' financial status will be checked through communication with school teachers.      
*Street Law HK reserves the rights in matters related to fee remission.

Eligibility:

- Students who are promoted to Secondary 4-6, Year 1 in the school year 2023-2024
- Passionate about the rule of law and civil responsibility.  
 -Applicants who can attend all the activities will be prioritized.

Interested students can apply for the summer school through this application form. All applications will be reviewed and screened. The results will be announced via email, and details such as payment methods will also be released in due course.
