This is an invitation to the seventeenth annual Midwest PhilMath Workshop (MWPMW 17), to be held at Notre Dame the weekend of Saturday, November 12th and Sunday, November 13th, 2016. As usual, the plan is for a full day of talks and discussions on Saturday and a half day on Sunday. Also as usual, there will be a workshop lunch and a workshop dinner on Saturday, with all participants invited to attend as guests of the university.
In a few weeks, a website for the workshop will be up, and you'll be able to keep up with developments there. I'll send a link for it in emails to come. You will also be able get to it by following the obvious links on the Philosophy Department's web page (http://www.nd.edu/~ndphilo/) or on my personal homepage (https://mdetlefsen.nd.edu/)
If you would like to give a talk, please email a pdf of your talk or a substantial summary to Paddy (email@example.com), Tim (firstname.lastname@example.org), Curtis (email@example.com) and me (firstname.lastname@example.org). We would like to have all proposals for talks by September 15th so that we can set the program by late September. Talks should be 35--40 minutes in length, with 15--20 minutes left for discussion.
We're fortunate to have Ms. Lauri Roberts (email@example.com) as the workshop manager again this year.
Finally, we would ask that you share this announcement with others you think might be interested in attending MWPMW 17, both students and faculty. As usual we will have funds (albeit limited) to help defray expenses for student participants coming from out of town whose departments do not have funds to defray their costs. These funds will generally take the form of subventions for lodging. If you are interested in applying for such a subvention, please notify us of this as soon as you can. At that time, please also have an appropriate faculty member from your department email us to confirm that your department cannot meet your expenses.
That's it for now. We hope you're having a good spring, and we look forward to seeing you at MWPMW 17 in November. We'll be in contact later with further information.
