My College Journey Academy Application
Dear Irving ISD student,

We are a group of former Irving ISD students that are currently in college or recently graduated. As a way to give back to the Irving community, we have created a 2-day free summer program from July 22-23 to aid students in applying to college. Additionally, we provide one-on-one mentoring for students throughout the year. We especially seek to support ALL interested students in applying to high-graduation rate universities and top-level universities (i.e. Harvard, UCLA, UChicago, etc.). Applying to outstanding colleges (even if we didn't believe we could get in) has changed our lives, and we wish to support students like you in dreaming big and achieving a great college education.

This program will focus on multiple areas of the college application process. These include and are not limited to essays, financial aid, scholarships, guest speakers, 1-on-1 mentorship, and interviews.

If you are interested in attending a high-graduation rate university but feel that you are lacking guidance/support, we can provide that. We encourage you to fill out this SHORT interest form if you would like to be part of this program.

This interest form will allow us to start to get to know you, but it can also be a very important practice in answering questions you will encounter during your college application journey. While the essay questions are optional, we encourage you to set aside some time to think through, outline, and/or draft your responses even if you do not get the chance to answer them here. The application deadline is on Sunday June 23rd, 2023 11:59pm CDT. You will receive confirmation of your spot in the program in early July.

The following are preferred, but not required:
IISD High school Junior or Senior
GPA 3.3 & above
Involved in extracurriculars and/or job and/or out-of-school commitments
AP/Dual credit classes
Interested, passionate, and ambitious

The program will take place in July. More details are provided further into the application and we will release specific dates later on.

MCJA will be conducted online and available from the comfort of your home. We expect full engagement as will make the program as interactive and fun as possible!
