Week 1-4, Studies in color and composition from a large still life installation on provided boards. Beginning with learning how to crop and design compositions in black and white. After composing we will learn how to mix color and then compose beyond the inherent color of the setup. 

Week 5-8 We will be working on a large canvas with the benefit of the learning from your studies. Working quickly, not just copying the studies onto the large surface. Flexibility, changes, and accidents encouraged. Using liberal amounts of provided oil paint with scraping and reapplying to take a responsive approach.  All you need to bring are your own brushes.  Eight sessions, Saturdays 1pm-5pm, 9/12- 11/7 (No Class 10/3)
