In December of 1975 at Kean University, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is proud to be the FIRST and LARGEST latina-based sorority in the nation. Our seventeen Founding Mothers, sought to enable and empower Latina women to aspire to reach their highest potential. In efforts to bridge the equality gap as the traditional roles of the Latina woman started to change, these ladies focused on active involvement in social, political, educational, and community engagement.
In Spring of 2013, 13 lovely Founding Sisters brought Lambda Theta Alpha to Virginia Commonwealth University by establishing the Zeta Alpha Chapter. Since then, we have been focused and dedicated to our goal of bringing sisterhood, academic excellence, and service to the community.
