As Canada and British Columbia experience their worst wildfire seasons in history, with tens of thousands of people under evacuation orders from their homes and communities, CAPE’s BC regional committee is issuing an urgent health advisory that underscores the health risks posed by the liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fracking industry within British Columbia.
LNG and fracking accelerate climate change, release harmful air pollutants, contaminate and deplete water supplies , and lead to adverse impacts on community health. Tell BC Premier David Eby, Health Minister Adrian Dix and Members of the Legislative Assembly of BC that the evidence is clear: expanding the LNG industry is harmful for public health. Contribute to a collective call for the BC government to safeguard a healthy future for ourselves and generations to come.
