The purpose of these workshops:
šŸ€For students: get the the opportunity to see if they have what it takes for microsurgery: a high degree of manual dexterity, good hand eye coordination, patience, tremor control, stress management, so they can decide if they want to pursue this career.
šŸ€For residents in Plastic surgery/ ORL(ENT) / Urology and other,Ā  is to complement their training (sometimes insufficient) during residency

200 LEI/Level (for residents, will benefit for special personalised materials, instruments, training , depending on the speciality, more consumables, suturing threads with microneedles)
*150 LEI(student discount, general training , includes one training suture thread)

Level1, practicing sutures on thin latex material
For LEVEL1
LEVEL1 is a 4 hours hands-on workshop, organized by our team of trainers, for medical students and residents.
Ā 
Limited to 10 participants/ workshop, so each participant will work on it's own microscope/loupes (and yes, we have a REAL fully functional SURGICAL OPERATING MICROSCOPE with foot pedal controls).
Ā Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā 
At Level1 workshop you will:

āž”ļøĀ  Ā (50 min) Attend an interactive presentation of clinical use cases, applications of microsurgery, magnification devices: loupes, microscope settings, specific instruments, needles , materials, techinques etcĀ  šŸ‘Øā€šŸ«

(10 min) Coffe break

āž”ļøĀ  (3hours +)Ā  Hands-on .Ā  šŸ”¬
See a demonstration of suturing under microscope performed by the trainer
Practice (Hands-on): Learn to operate the microscope and use the special microsurgical instruments, practice sutures on latex material , under the supervision of the trainer... aprox 3+ hours with coffee breaks ā˜•.

Ā At LEVEL2 workshop you will:

āž”ļøĀ  (30 min)Ā  Attend an interactiveĀ  presentationĀ  šŸ‘Øā€šŸ«

āž”ļøĀ  (20 min ) Warm-up by practicing sutures on silicone to improve the microsuturing techniques learned atĀ  Level1;Ā 
Ā  Ā Learn some tips&tricks for improving your skills, finesse and speed when doing microsutures in different hand positions;Ā  (a microsuture should be made in less that 1min 30seconds)

āž”ļøĀ 2-3 hours: Practical part
Ā For participants interested inĀ plastic / vascular surgery, ENT , urology, you will do artifical vessels (special silicone tubes 2-4 mm diameter produced in our MedWorkshops laboratory)Ā 
or cherry tomatoesĀ  , practice for ophtalmologists (you must be very careful not to break the skin);
Time: aprox 3+ hours with coffe breaks on silicone tubes.

Ā This will prepare you for LEVEL3 (microvascular anastomoses on chicken legs) and Level4 (anastomoses on live rats unde anesthesia).

Level 3 , microvascular anastomoses , T-T, T-L, L-L
Ā LEVEL 3 for participants interested in plastic surgery ( only for those who attended LEVEL2 )
AtĀ  LEVEL3 workshop you will:

a) attend an interactive 30 min presentation held by a PLASTIC SURGEONšŸ‘Øā€šŸ«
b) do a 10 min warm-up by practicing sutures on silicone to remember what you did on Level2;
c) learn some tips&tricks for improving your skills, finesse and speed when doing microsutures in different hand positions;
d) practice dissection, then anastomoses (termino-terminal, termino-lateral) on chicken leg: artery veins (using the special instruments: approximator) and nerves;Ā  practice using with the electrosurgery unit

Time: aprox 4+ hours with coffe breaks
Level3 dissection and astomoses on chicken leg
