MENTOR APPLICATION - 2023
We are now accepting Mentor applications for Our Academy's third cohort tentatively starting March 2023. 

Our Academy is a  501(C)(3) non-profit cannabis mentorship accelerator for BIPOC and justice impacted NY  CAURD license holders.

Requirements to become an OA Mentor:

  • You have been in cannabis for at least 3 years
  • Opened up one or more compliant dispensaries in the US
  • You are experienced with everything that goes into running a compliant dispensary or delivery license, including but not limited to:
    • Licensing, permitting, and zoning
    • Staffing and human resources policies
    • Security standards and practices
    • Compliance policies and procedures
    • Marketing
    • Sell-through
    • Purchasing
    • Fundraising

Before we get started, we need to ask you a few questions in order to pair you with the right mentee and get you involved.

This program will specifically cater to CAURD license holders in New York State. Since New York has laws regulating True Parties of Interest ("TPI"), all mentors participating in this program must have read these regulations. To read more about TPI regulations please reference the CAURD TPI Home Page, or contact the Office of Cannabis Management at  licensing@ocm.ny.gov.
