Look through a different lens at play and toys which entice children to the various areas and activities so that they’ll have increased and improved prewriting / writing opportunities. Understand how grasp and strokes develop in many of the classroom centers. Beef up the writing opportunities in your setting. See a variety of toys and manipulatives guaranteed to “draw” youngsters to the joy of prewriting. Learn activities and strategies that invite children to make purposeful marks; create some for yourself and colleagues.
