Open letter: The Whitworth Trust to Cambridgeshire County Council
The letter below is a response to the anticipated closure of Whitworth House, a hostel for vulnerable young women in Cambridge, from The Whitworth Trust — a charity which supports the House residents and homeless women in the city.
In January 2019, the housing association that owns and manages Whitworth House, announced that, following notification of funding cuts from Cambridgeshire County Council, it had decided to sell the property in June. This letter attempts to open a dialogue between the Council, the housing association and the Trust to discuss alternatives to the House's closure.
