The application process will happen in two stages; your initial application will check your eligibility against ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) criteria. You will then be contacted by the project manager to confirm your eligibility and discuss your business development support needs in more detail.
About the programme
The Health Technology Accelerator Programme (HTAP) is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support small to medium businesses (SMEs) develop new products or services for the health and life science sector.

The project is managed by the University of the West of England and the West of England Academic Health Science Network, and will provide 12 hours of free business coaching and mentoring for businesses that believe they have an innovative product or service that has the potential to benefit the health and social care sectors.

The programme will support businesses to develop their internal capabilities, helping to advance their market access strategy and accelerate the commercialisation of novel products or services. HTAP will offer support to businesses across the product development cycle in the form of access to the following professional services:

- Healthcare specific business planning & strategy
- Financial advice & accountancy
- Funding & bid writing
- Regulatory & IP advice
- Marketing, market research & health economics

Who can apply?
1. Founders/managers of newly formed businesses or mature small to medium businesses based in the West of England LEP region (see map below for overview of the region)

2. Start-ups and SMEs who are looking to further develop novel products or services for the health and life science sector
