Application for Membership - City of Austin Bicycle Advisory Council (BAC) 🚲🏛️🏙️

The Bicycle Advisory Council (BAC) advises the City of Austin on planning, policy, design, funding, education and enforcement efforts regarding the creation, maintenance and operation of bicycle facilities. The BAC is composed of 9 full (voting) members and 10 alternate (non-voting) members. Note that all members attend all meetings and play an equal role in discussion. Their monthly meeting agendas typically consist of briefings, discussion/approval of recommendations to local agencies, and community announcements. The BAC meets in person at the Permitting and Development Center, Room 1402 located at 6310 Wilhelmina Delco Dr. Austin, TX 78752 as well as virtually via WebEx. September 14, 2025 will be the last day to apply for BAC membership this year. Elections will be held on October 21, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to attend a BAC meeting prior to the election to learn more about the group and issues they address. All applicants are asked to attend the October 21st meeting to briefly introduce themselves and address the current members at the beginning of the meeting.

If you choose to apply to the BAC, the content of your application will be distributed electronically to all current BAC members and may be posted publicly online. Personal information (emails, addresses, phone numbers, etc.), however, will be redacted by City of Austin staff.

The BAC generally meets the third Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise specified on an agenda, and has the option for members to attend virtually or in-person. Attendance is critical to the success of the BAC, for both full and alternate members. Are you willing to attend at least 75% of meetings (9 out of 12 meetings)?
