Next Step: Contract Convention October 10th & Bargaining Committee Elections

We are a democratic union, and the results of these surveys and hundreds of member meetings (at worksites and at the union hall) this fall will be combined into a single list of proposals, for discussion and ratification at our Contract Convention on October 10th. Our bargaining committee will take these proposals to the companies, and they are elected by each worksite, when a majority of workers sign a petition. Every building or group of buildings over 10 workers can elect up to 2 bargaining committee members to represent them, when a majority sign a petition.

    Workload/Safety/Training

Fear should not be a part of anyone’s workplace: We want to wake up and not fear going to work. We want to know we won’t have to pay for each raise with more layoffs, more workload, more injuries.

Union contract negotiations are a chance to improve things in our community as well as in our workplace. Please fill in the following questions to help us understand how we can build a stronger alliance with our community, and how we are impacted by the problems in our neighborhoods.

We Have a Right to Achieve Our Dreams Too!

The corporate executives in the office buildings that we protect and clean are living their dream as they make record profits. At the same time, many of us have less than our parents did, and are horrified that our kids might have less than us. We are sick of limiting our dreams to paying our rent and having enough food!

How Do I Get More Involved in Our Union?

We must be united and strong as a union to win better wages and conditions at work. Learn the ways you can participate and use your voice. Union members have created “circles” with other members who have something in common, or who share the same interests, or talents. Put a check next to any of the following circles that you might like to get involved in:
