One of the best things we can do for our dogs is to teach them good behavior around other animals. This can be done in a number of ways, but one of the simplest is to have your dog lay down when they see a pet coming. Another way to train your dog is to have them sit when they see a pet coming. You can also train them to come when called, stay when called, and not to jump up at people or pets. Some basic commands such as "sit" and "stay" are all you need, but if you want to go further you can start teaching your dog obedience exercises such as "down," "come," and "heel." There are many books and websites available on how to train your dog, so take some time to look into it and find what works best for your particular situation.
