The Preschool Tuition and Transportation Scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible families with preschool-aged children, ensuring access to quality early childhood education. This scholarship covers both tuition fees and transportation costs, removing barriers that might prevent children from attending preschool. By offering this support, we aim to promote equitable access to education, fostering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive and develop essential skills for future success. Criteria for the scholarship includes (but is not limited to) the following:

Residency: Applicants must reside within the Wallace CCSD 195 boundaries to be eligible for a Tuition & Transportation Scholarship.
Financial Need: Families may demonstrate financial need, typically determined by household income and size. *You can CLICK HERE to access the current Federal Poverty Level (FPL) Guidelines regarding household income.
Priority Groups: Preference may be given to families facing additional challenges such as single-parent households, families experiencing homelessness, or those with special needs children.
Community Involvement: Families actively engaged in community activities or volunteering may receive additional consideration.
Academic Performance: While not a primary consideration, academic performance of the child may be taken into account, especially for Tier 2 applicants.
Parental Engagement: Families demonstrating a commitment to their child's education through active participation in parent-teacher meetings or workshops may be favored.
Special Circumstances: Consideration may be given to families facing unique circumstances such as medical expenses or other unexpected financial burdens.

By establishing Tier 1 and Tier 2 criteria, we ensure that the scholarship program reaches those most in need while also recognizing and supporting families with the highest level of needs. The benefits for both of these tiers are as follows:

Tier 1: Scholarship includes free tuition and free transportation provided by the school district.
Tier 2: Scholarship includes 50% discount on tuition.
