Winter 2019-20 Lego Program
Central and Park Street Campus: LEGO STEM with programming:

Today’s elementary students are tomorrow’s creative problem-solvers. Equip them with the necessary STEM knowledge and skills to be innovative and imaginative thinkers. Create a better understanding of STEM subjects while building 21st-century skills. Students will have an introduction to computer coding through games that interact with the LEGO builds.

This program uses LEGO Simple Machines and Lego Wedo Education set*. It makes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics come to life. The unique combination of the LEGO brick, friendly software, and engaging, standards-based projects results in a resource that builds students’ confidence to ask questions, define problems and design their own solutions by putting STEM learning directly in their hands.

Central Campus: Computer Coding for continuing LEGO students: Continuing work in computer coding for students who have taken LEGO class in the past at Yu Ying. We will code games and animations that interact with Lego builds in the program Scratch. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively, creating a better understanding of STEM subjects while building 21st-century skills.
