Webinar “Political Biographies in Post-Socialist Eastern Europe"
Who is the politically active subject in post-Soviet and post-socialist societies? What constitutes a social movement? What are the collective forms of dissent? Which visual images are produced in the context of grass-roots politics? What are the relations of art/cultural practice, knowledge production and political organizing?
Airi Triisberg is currently interviewing political organisers and cultural workers in the post-Soviet and post-socialist region. The interviews focus on the political biographies of her conversation partners, thus connecting personal narratives with larger political histories. This presentation reflects on the questions that have emerged from the research process. The presentation will be followed by an open conversation.
