Classroom Project Grant APPLICATION

Each ACTM Classroom Project Grant provides financial assistance to an Arkansas mathematics teacher to fund a special project for the students in the teacher's classroom (up to $500). Grants will be awarded twice a year.


Application deadlines:

  • Round 1:  Applications due April 1 (Awardees will be announced at the ACTM Networking Night in May)  

  • Round 2:  Applications due October 1 (Awardees will be announced at the ACTM conference in the fall)


Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a current ACTM member and a classroom teacher who is teaching at any level 

  • Not currently on the ACTM Board

  • Has not been awarded a Classroom Project Grant in the past 3 years 

  • Recipients will submit receipts to the ACTM treasurer prior to the deadline of the next round of applications (October 1st for spring recipients; April 1 for fall recipients).

  • Accompanying the receipts, the recipient will also send an engaging paragraph description of how the funds were spent and how the students were impacted, along with a photo that can be featured in the next ACTM journal to promote the Classroom Project Grant. 

Rubric for selecting Classroom Project Grant recipients: 

  • Applicant has described a viable classroom project and its objectives, and it is clear how the requested funds will be used. (10 points)

  • Applicant has described the project’s benefits to students and how it can improve student learning or interest in mathematics, and it is clear that the project will benefit students.  (10 points)

  • In the case of a ‘tie’ in deciding between projects, the number of students interacting with the project will be considered.

Project Title

Project Description:  Describe your project and its objectives.  Explain how you and your students will use what you purchase with the grant funds.


Project Budget: Give a cost breakdown of items you plan to purchase, and a total cost (the amount you are requesting.)

Benefit to Students:  Describe how the project will improve student learning or interest in mathematics, and otherwise benefit your students. 


Specify approximately how many students will interact with this project.


A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
