Join the Southern Theorising Group (STingG) mailing list
Southern Theorising Group (STingG) is a trans-disciplinary platform to have a conversation around what it means to be working in/with/for "South" / Global South (and global East).

What is the South, in terms of how urban and critical theory has been using it? Is it geography, a collection of ethnicities and racialities or more about differentiations of sensitivities and ontologies? What does the South even begin or end, spatially and temporally? Is it a category by itself or rather a pluriversal domain of many souths and easts made subaltern by the North/West? Or is the South another Northern construction that requires transgression and divergence?

We organise reading groups, seminars, lectures, discussions, walks, talks, symposiums, online meets and many other modes of conversation to build a critical mass around Southern notions that often are marginalised in our institutions. Most of our events are free and hybrid to allow maximum participation.

Our aim is to facilitate Southern/Eastern voices, discourses and minorities to come to fore in constructing a pluriversal world.

Join the mailing group to be part of the conversation and to get event joining details.
The ongoing conversation itself is a form of theorising, and your voice is important to us.
