Edgewood RC Permission Slip
The Edgewood RC Car Club is an opportunity for students to participate in competitive racing in small groups as well as individually in a non-academic setting where they can learn simple physical mechanics and good sportsmanship.  We believe that all students who participate must do well in class and that scholastic achievement comes first.

Requirements:
All participants are to follow all of the school rules at all times.  Students are required to have no Ds and Fs on their current grade report.  Grades will be checked on the same day as the club meetings.  Students who have the required grades, but poor classroom behavior, will not be allowed to participate in that current meeting.  Students not adhering to the rules set forth by the school or the club advisor will be asked to leave the club meeting and be picked up by a parent or guardian.

Club Equipment and Cars:
The Edgewood RC Car Club has a fleet of cars that students may use.  Students do not need to have/buy their own cars in order to be in the club.  Students are responsible for any equipment they use and must replace any equipment they damage or break.  Students are responsible for checking the condition of the cars before they use them.  If a car is non-functional,  the student must take it to the advisor to be fixed before running.  Most parts cost between 5-10 dollars, but the responsibility of the fault/cost is at the discretion of the advisor.  Students will not be allowed to participate until they pay for any direct damage that they have incurred.

Basic Rules of the RC Club:
1.  Follow all directions from adults/advisors of the club
2.  Use appropriate language
3.  Wait your turn
4.  Do not touch other people’s property without asking for permission
5.  Tell an adult if you are leaving for any reason before 4:30 pm

Days, Times, and Location:
The Edgewood RC Car Club meets every Friday from 3:30 - 4:30 pm unless noted.  An email through School Loop and a reminder will be sent out if we are not meeting.  Student cars can be stored in B10 so they do not have to carry them all day.  Students must retrieve their cars by the end of the day unless noted by the advisor.

*Rain, stormy weather, and extreme heat will lead to cancellations of club meetings.

I have read the expectations above and agree to abide by the rules or I will forfeit my place in the club for the remainder of the school year.  Please turn this back into the RC club advisor.  Thanks.  Should you need this document for reference, please make a copy.
