SAIA Volunteer Call-Out: Israeli Apartheid Week
Thank you for interest in volunteering with Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA) at the University of Toronto St. George (UTSG) during this year's Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) - March 8 - 17, 2020.
We kindly request that you fill out this form.
All knowledge and experience levels are welcome!
First launched in Toronto in 2005, Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) has grown to become one of the most important global events in the Palestine solidarity calendar. IAW is an international series of events that aims to raise awareness of Israel’s apartheid regime over the Palestinian people and build support for the growing global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. IAW2020 at UofT is hosted by CUPE 3902 BDS Committee, CUPE 3902 Racialised Workers’ Caucus, OPIRG Toronto's Students Against Israeli Apartheid, UofT’s Independent Jewish Vioices, and UofT’s Graduate Student Union’s BDS Committee in partnership with OPIRG Toronto. The keynote with Dr. Angela Davis has been generously sponsored by CUPE Ontario; the CUPE Ontario International Solidarity Committee; CUPE 3902.
JOIN US on March 8th to 17th, as we continue to build momentum on campus for the main BDS campaign at UofT that calls on the University of Toronto administration to divest from companies which are directly complicit in the violation of Palestinian human rights, and that profit from the illegal occupation of Palestinian land and the construction of the Apartheid Wall. These companies include Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Hewlett Packard -- all of which help maintain the Israeli apartheid military infrastructure.
