I’m writing to urge you to co-sponsor the Keep Food Containers Safe from PFAS Act, the bill to ban PFAS chemicals in food packaging. These synthetic chemicals have been linked to a wide range of health problems including a weaker immune system, cancer, and liver damage. States and restaurants across the country have heard us loud and clear: These chemicals don’t belong in the food we eat or the water we drink. It’s time for Congress to protect our families and communities by banning PFAS from food contact materials.
