Community Shared agriculture (CSA) is an alternative, locally based socio-economic model of agriculture and food distribution. A CSA refers to a particular network or association of individuals who have pledged to support one or more local farms, with growers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. CSA members pay at the onset of the growing season (high farm capital time) for a share of the anticipated harvest; once harvesting begins, they receive weekly shares of vegetables, in a harvest box, and also sometimes herbs, and fruit. As a CSA member, you are an important part of the Earth Apple Farm community. It allows you to bypass the conventional supply chain and directly contribute to the viability of a small-‐scale, organic farm in your region.

Since this is a regular weekly commitment, we ask that you carefully read and agree to the following terms of the agreement.

By signing up with Earth Apple Organic Farm’s CSA Harvest Box program I agree: *

That there are no refunds, but that I may sell my share to a friend.

To reading the weekly emails for important updates/announcements, harvest box contents and recipe suggestions.

To paying for my membership share on time. If payment cannot be made before this time and/or payment needs to be made in installments, I commit to communicating this to Earth Apple Farm in a timely fashion (We may be able to make alternate arrangements to accommodate you.)

To pick up my weekly Harvest Box according to the option I signed up for on the designated week day and location. Or to make arrangements ahead of time to either have someone else pick up in my place or to cancel the box with 24 hours notice.

To be respectful to the host where i am picking up my harvest box each week. Please report any issues with your harvest box and/or pick up within 24 hours of receiving it to Earth Apple Organic Farm.

To leave the tote behind that my veggies will be delivered in and remember to bring bags or some other alternative to transport your veggies home.

That I am sharing in both the risks (uncooperative weather, hungry pests, crop failure) and the benefits (fresh, wholesome seasonal produce every week, new recipe ideas, a relationship with your farmer, opportunities to participate in or visit the farm).

That harvest boxes will vary from week to week, generally consisting of 7 to 10+ different seasonal items, and that there is no guarantee of the exact amount or contents of my share, since some parts of the season tend to be more/less productive than others.

That some items such as summer squash and tomatoes in the summer, winter squash in the winter tend to have long seasons and kale is typically throughout the entire season and that you will need to be creative with how to cook them.

That as a member I am an integral part of the Earth Apple Organic Farm community. I have read over all the information and, understand how the program works and will contact Earth Apple Organic Farm if I have any questions or concerns.

To trying new recipes, eating seasonally and partaking in mouthwatering meals made out of fresh ingredients from the farm ☺
