We also welcome board members from a variety of occupations and perspectives--one must not necessarily have a background in public policy or urban planning to be considered.

Future-oriented: the built environment should be designed for the needs of future generations, and in the context of a rapidly changing non-human world
Justice-driven: cities, towns, and streets should empower and include people of all ages, especially the vulnerable and marginalized
Delight-cultivating: places should inspire happiness and wonder in all seasons and all times of the night and day
The board meets monthly in the metro area. It is a working board, and members are expected to participate in creating a healthy organization. Board members lead most work groups of the organization and are expected to spend time working on
initiatives outside of board meetings.

Prepare for and participate in 12 board meetings per year
Devote 10 hours per month working on
initiatives, working groups, or committees
Attend at least two social or other special events sponsored by
