Petition in Support of Philadelphia Bed Bug Bill
Bed bugs are a serious problem, and Philadelphia is one of the few large cities without a comprehensive bed bug ordinance. Many Philadelphians suffer from infestations of bedbugs. Landlords and tenants debate who is responsible for extermination while the bed bugs spread. Numerous citizens have reported being denied essential services because they believed to have bed bugs in their home. This discrimination and inaction must end.

TELL CITY COUNCIL: I SUPPORT THE PHILADELPHIA BED BUG BILL!

This bill is the product of the City Council Task Force spearheaded by City Councilman Mark Squilla.   The bill calls for the City of Philadelphia to:

• Require property owners to keep their properties free of bed bugs.
• Implement a code enforcement policy that takes infestations seriously.
• Educate our city about best practices for extermination.
• Implement policies that keep our homes, schools, and workplaces free from infestation.
