Our mentorship program is open to all current VLA Members:

- Mentors must have at least 5 years of library experience.
- Advanced Mentors must have at least 5 years of library experience and must currently hold or previously held a management role in libraries or have significant expertise in one of the specialty areas defined below. 
- Mentees must have an interest in working in libraries or be employed by a Virginia library.
- Advanced Mentees are considering entering a management position, or are new to a management position, or be working in one of the specialty areas defined below.

Thank you for your interest in NMRT Mentorship!  We will be contacting you shortly to discuss participating with the 2026 NMRT Mentorship session. 

Note, that mentor pairs will be sent out Mid-December, with prompts beginning in January 2026.  Additionally, there will be a virtual orientation meeting in early January for all participants to discuss the expectation for the mentor pairs.
