League & Regional Structure: TCSAAL will be divided into 6 different age groupings for athletic competitions.
Grouping 1: 4th–6th Grade (under 13) - Grouping 2: 6th-8th Grade Premier (under 15) - Grouping 3: 6th-8th Grade Secondary (under 15)  Grouping 4: 9th-10th Grade (Under 17) - Grouping 5: Junior Varsity (Under 19) - Grouping 6: Varsity (Under 19)

Athletic Regions Being Offered: North Texas (D/FW), Central Texas (Austin / San Antonio / Corpus Christi / Waco-Temple-Killeen areas), East Texas (Houston Area) South Texas (Texas Valley) and West Texas (El Paso, Midland/Odessa, Amarillo)

Academic, Art, & ESports Activities: Due to the structure of the academic competitions, all schools, regardless of their location around the state, will be able to participate.

Please note that we divide our Athletic registration into 2 separate forms. 

Form 1 (this form) will be for all of your Varsity and Middle School Premier activities. These are our state advancing age groupings.  This upcoming year, we will have 2 different registration deadlines.  The following Varsity and Middle School Premier team activities will have to be registered for by APRIL 3, 2026:

We are having an earlier timeline for Varsity and Middle School Premier team sports listed above because we will be releasing these schedules for all of next school year before we break for the summer. 

If you miss the registration deadline for Varsity or Middle School Premier team activities listed above, you will not be guaranteed a spot for these age groupings in the above team sports.  We will place you on the waiting list to fill a spot for a team that drops or form additional divisions if enough teams join late.  If these options do not become available, then we will work with you to schedule your school for JV or other non-state advancing age groupings this year. The Varsity and Middle School Premier activities not listed above ie. wrestling, golf, cheer, tennis and track because of the nature of these competitions will have a different registration deadline usually 30 days before the events but will still use this form. 

Form 2 will be for all other age groupings: Junior Varsity, 9th - 10th Grade, Middle School Secondary, and 4th - 6th Grade. This is the registration form for our non-state advancing groupings.  These groupings play to Regional Championships.  These deadlines will be rolling for each activity with registration deadline 60 days before the event starts and schedules will be released 30 days before.

Junior Varsity, 9th - 10th Grade, Middle School Secondary, and 4th - 6th Grade Registration Form for the 2026-2027 School year. (Deadline 60 days before scheduled start of activity). 

Please note that our 4th – 6th Grade,  6th-8th Grade Secondary, 9th-10th Grade, and Junior Varsity groupings do not advance to state playoffs. They will participate in a regional playoff tournament, but they will not advance to state. Teams do not have to enter a Varsity team to enter a JV team. 

Seniors can participate in the Junior Varsity Level.

* Please note that if you register to provide your own officials, failure to do so in an activity may result in forfeiture of the result.

Officials rates are based off of the rates set by the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO). Please note as TASO will meet in Late April 2026, for next school year's activities. If they raise their rates then we will be forced to match that. We will notify you all that register before that happens when it happens and update this document if necessary. 

Planned regular season length will be 8 games for all team sports with the exception of Varsity Basketball and Varsity Volleyball, which will have a planned regular season length of 10 games.  Officials fees will be prorated to reflect the different season lengths when necessary.  Seasons may be expanded to 12 games in some cases.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
*Each campus pays a bi-annual base fee of $1,500 for their 2-year commitment (2026-2027 & 2027-2028). Base fee will include 2 Coaches Conference ticket per year. This is to ensure each school has representation in the conference. It is important to have representation for taking vital votes and learning rule changes. This will be a $40 savings per attendee from the cost of a coaches conference ticket.

* Bi-Annual Base Fee will go towards funding for Regional Directors, Site Managers, playoff facilities, playoff officials, playoff security, playoff trainers, assigner fees, as well as other league aspects.
