We are looking for participants from Italy, Serbia and Spain who are willing to take part in RURAL RiSE, a pioneering European initiative focused on revitalizing rural areas by promoting social entrepreneurship, sustainable skills development and green job creation, with a special focus on youth and women. 
By aligning with the New European Bauhaus vision, RURAL RiSE envisions sustainable economic and social regeneration, transforming rural areas into vibrant communities.
Specifically, we are selecting 24 participants (8 from Italy, 8 from Serbia, 8 from Spain) for the first RURAL RiSE Capacity Building Lab, happening on 21 and 22 May 2025 in Miglionico, Italy, where you will get the chance to network with European youth, Public Administration representatives and Social Economy Organisations.

Who can apply: citizens from Italy, Serbia and Spain.Priority will be given to applicants from:

  • Extremadura, Spain

  • South of Serbia

  • Basilicata, Italy


Estimated time to fill in this form: 15 minutes.

Please note that:
  • Participation in this call is entirely free of charge for the applicant.
  • English is the official language of this open call. Submissions done in any other language will not be evaluated. 
  • Incomplete applications that do not provide all the requested information will not be evaluated.

The submitted applications will be subject to evaluation by the RURAL RiSE consortium, who will notify applicants via email by March 31st the results of the selection process. The RURAL RiSE consortium will communicate the results via e-mail to the address which each applicant provides through the present form. If selected, each applicant has time until 01/04/2025 10:00 (Brussels time) to send a filled-in and signed version of this agreement to the same email address from which they will receive the notification of selection. The agreement contains: travel information, conditions to participate and conditions for reimbursement, including instructions on how to proceed with flight bookings. Any main transportation booked without previous agreement will not be accepted. In any case the main transportation booking must be done within April 4th to confirm participation.

After this first Capacity Building Lab, we will be hosting other Capacity Building Labs and free online training, for which we will launch separate calls:
  • Capacity Building Lab 2: second week of October 2025 in Serbia (dates to be announced)
  • Capacity Building Lab 3: second half of March 2026 in Spain (dates to be announced)
  • Final event in Bruxelles, Belgium, June 2026 (dates to be announced)
  • May and June 2026: online training for local authorities
