Water Game Jam Site Registration
Water Game Jam in spring 2019 will offer teams a chance to develop games that focus on the issues of water resources, conservation and quality. In order to participate, a site needs to be registered with one point of contact. The site has the autonomy to determine when they will design the games between Feb. 15 and April 8. This game jam is open to classrooms or afterschool groups in grades 3-8. The competition will be split among analog games (card games, board games, role playing games) and digital games, and judged according to age group (grades 3-5 and grades 6-8). Teams will be made up of a maximum of 5 students. Up to 12 winning teams will be invited to the Science Center of Iowa for a showcase and special events on May 10. Funding of up to $200 per school will be provided for transportation of the 12 teams to the Science Center. Reimbursement will also be made for classroom supplies, up to $50 for 20 teams. Expenses must be documented with receipts.

Once you register, the Game Jam organizers will contact you via email with additional information.

The Water Game Jam is sponsored by the Iowa Conservation Education Coalition through an Iowa STEM Innovation Grant from the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council.
