Welcome to Cape Fear Aviation Flight Training. We are excited that you have considered us to help you achieve your aviation goals. In order to best accommodate all the soldiers who want to pursue their Flight Training with us, we need you to fill out the following survey. Please allow 2 business days to receive your quote.

Active Duty Service Members are eligible for $1000 CA Program money to be used for flight training each fiscal year. This course includes time on the ground learning ground instructor concepts AND time in the air putting theory into practice. The BGI course can be done at the same time as your Private Pilot training.

What is your weight in pounds.
This will also help us to know which plane you will be flying in.
Can you provide either a birth certificate or a current passport? *
Flight training requires us to prove that you are a US citizen. We will need you to provide either of these documents for us to make a copy of by your second flight.
What training are you applying for this fiscal year? *
You can choose both a Flight Option and the Basic Ground Instructor if you're interested in receiving quotes for both.
Do you have any prior flight experience? *
If you have prior flight experience, please describe.
Specifically, are you currently a rotary pilot. If so, are you commercial and instrument rated.
When do you want to start your training? *
From the you submit your quote to the Army Ignited website, it will be 35 business days until you get approved and can start flying. You will be able to start ground school while you are waiting.
When are you hoping to be done with your training? *
Typically if you are able to come in 2-3 times a week consistently, you can finish your training in about 3 months. If you come in only once a week, it may take you up to a year to finish given weather and aircraft maintenance.
Do you have an ETS, PCS, Army training or any scheduled deployment in the next 6 months? *
You will have one year to finish your training once your quote is accepted. We need to know if there is any reason you need/want to be done by a specific date.
When do you want to do your training? *
How do you want to pay for your training above the CA money you receive? *
Training in a Cessna 150 costs around $7500, in a Cessna 172 costs around $8,500. The difference in the planes depends on your size. For Reserve/Guard service members, you can use your $4000 Phase 1 money and then use $4000 Phase 2 money to cover all the costs, if you train over two fiscal years. For Active Duty service members, you can use the $1000 and then you will need to pay out of pocket for the remaining costs, unless you happen to train over two fiscal years (then you'll be able to use Phase 1 and Phase 2 money for a total of $2000).
