Being a member of the staff team isn’t just about writing well or meeting the ‘simple’ requirements that we've put on the application page. It's not even about being friendly to other staff.

Being a member of the staff team on this community server is about who YOU are, as both a user, and as a person. It is about dedication to helping others as well as making sure the server runs smoothly and remains a fun place for everyone.
It is not all fun and games among staff and players. You need to dedicate time (a lot of it) to others and you can't expect a lot of gratitude: this is what YOU asked for.

YOU will need a lot of self control to be staff; we do not just rudely blow users away, no matter how much we would like to, because this would make the whole server look bad, that we aren't able to deal with users in a mature way, and it would just degrade the ranks of staff to behave like random doofuses.

What I want to say here is that in order to be accepted as part of the staff team, you need to be staff material. To prove it, you need to be mature, not only to look like you can be. Being mature is a big deal in your everyday life. Accepting a rejection is a part of being mature. Overcoming disappointment and going through some introspection process is a great way, if not the only one, to grow up.

So please, if you want to be a staff member, first ask yourself:

Do I get angry easily? Is disappointment something that brings me down immediately? Do I want to be the server star? Do I enjoy participating in chats more than helping? Do I let personal issues overcome reasonable thinking?

If you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, you might want to reconsider applying. You will still be a part of the community: after all, we wouldn't have any purpose on here without the masses of users that populate the server!
