- If your application is awarded funding, it will be subsequently reviewed by the Student Risk Management Committee, and possibly by the OPO Risk Management Advisory Committee. Comments will be made directly on your submitted proposal and you will be notified. It is your responsibility to address those comments directly on the document. Please do so promptly.
- Once it is approved, you will be sent a form to fill out with an assumption of risk form, a water comfort assessment, and some questions about you and your trip. Your funding will not be disbursed until you have completed those forms.
- If your trip is international, OPO will register your itinerary with the college system. You will be notified, and should double check that the information is correct.
- We strongly recommend securing your own travel/evac insurance, as Dartmouth's ISOS program may not cover your activities and medical evac can be tens of thousands of dollars in an emergency.
- Funds will be distributed after all review and paperwork is complete. You will receive an e-mail from JP Morgan, the company that processes the college's payments. It may end up in your spam folder. This message will have instructions on how to transfer the payment to your account.
- These awards are considered taxable income, and Dartmouth will issue the payee a form during tax season. For most students, this shouldn't be an issue, and you can recoup the taxes under the basic personal deduction, but this depends on your individual circumstances. If you wish to have the funding divided among your group, please Note here
