The GIF Challenge 2019 is the first of its kind and organized by LASALLE College of the Arts, Puttnam School of Film & Animation together with Singapore Books Council and CAMPUS Magazine. The competition takes place on the 24th and 25th of August, from 10am to 8pm at LASALLE McNally campus. Participants have 24 hours to create an animated GIF based on a list of short text provided by the Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) 2019. It could be based on a character, a plot, an emotion - all up to your imagination! The competition is open to public and attractive prizes stand to be won!

There are two categories for sign up - Open category and Student category. The Open category caters for all levels of expertise. Beginners with little or no experience will be offered a free introductory GIF Animation workshop on the 17th of August. The Student category caters to all currently registered students in Singapore. Participants in both categories must be aged 16 and above.

Main prizes for each category will be presented at AFCC between the 4th to 8th of September 2019. In addition, the main sponsor, CAMPUS Magazine will select one or more animated GIFs to be developed as possible covers for an upcoming issue. Numerous small and lucky draw prizes will also be awarded during the competition itself!

AFCC is an annual festival organised by SBC to promote the creation, development and appreciation of quality Asian content for children and young adults. The festival comprises presentations, panels, masterclasses, workshops, as well as programmes for the public. For more information about the festival, you can visit
