2017 South Bay Conference on Gender -- Call for Proposals
The Gender Equity Center at San José State University (SJSU) is seeking presenter proposals for our 4th South Bay Conference on Gender: Gender & Video Games! This will be a one-day conference, on April 8th, 2017, that addresses issues related to the intersections of gender and gaming.
We are seeking workshops, presentations, dialogues, discussions, and panels that explore “Gender & Video Games” through topics such as:
- Avatar representation
- Gender within the gaming community
- Gender & diversity representation in games
- Visuals, storyline, relationships with in-game characters, personality traits, etc.
- Game creation (i.e. how to develop games)
- Game development
- And much more!
Everyone is encouraged to apply! We welcome students, scholars, educators, gamers, developers, cultural workers, community organizers, working professionals, researchers, and policy makers to submit proposals.
