The conference goal is to provide an outstanding professional development opportunity for educators, parents, and others who work with children ages 3-21 with significant intellectual and low incidence disabilities. Beat the Heat is celebrating its Silver Anniversary; please join us!

Conference Audience: Special education teachers, early childhood/ECSE teachers, instructional coaches/support staff, transition specialists, paraeducators, related service providers, adapted physical educators, speech language pathologists, teachers of the visually impaired, and parents.
This conference is supported by Part B IDEA funds.
2020 Beat the Heat Schedule
Day 1 (Wednesday, June 17) features full day in-depth sessions from national presenters on best practices in special education.
Day 2 (Thursday, June 18) follows the popular format of a general assembly keynote and breakout sessions on best practices featuring regional presenters and ESC staff.
Day 3 (Friday, June 19) provides an extra half-day of maker faire!
Call for Presentations
We are calling for presentations for Thursday, June 18th. These time slots are available.
-10:15-11:45 AM (90 minutes)
-1:00 - 1:45 PM (45 minutes)
-2:00 - 2:45 PM (45 minutes)
-3:00 - 3: 45 PM (45 minutes)
Why present? Professionals like to hear practical applications from others in the trenches. You have a chance to share your expertise with others, pay it forward, pad your resume, AND you get to attend Beat the Heat for free! Conference registration will be provided for up to two (2) presenters per session.
It's our 25th Anniversary! You want to be a part of this exciting event!
