Organizing Dementia-Friendly Programs: Overcoming Obstacles
Across Washington, we're seeing the growth of two popular programs that help people with dementia stay active and engaged: Alzheimer’s Cafes/Memory Cafes, and dementia-friendly walking groups. While it's exciting to start one of these programs, there can be bumps along the way! In this webinar, we will discuss solutions to common challenges in program development, such as how to spread the word about a new program, or how to find funding or in-kind support. Learn first-hand from presenters who have successfully started and sustained dementia-friendly programs, and discover how to overcome the particular obstacles you may be facing.

The webinar is hosted by the Dementia-Friendly Communities Project Team of the Washington State Dementia Action Collaborative:
Marigrace Becker, UW Memory & Brain Wellness Center
Christina Clem, AARP Washington
Hilarie Hauptman, Aging and Long-term Support Administration, DSHS
Cathy Knight, Aging and Disability Services
Lynne Korte, Aging and Long-term Support Administration, DSHS
Cathy Maccaul, AARP Washington
Myriam Marquez, Community Advocate
Marty Richards, Social Worker
Jon Rudicil, Washington Association of Area Agencies on Aging
Bob Wellington, Community Advocate
