Hamline Midway Neighborhood - Real Estate Investment Cooperative Survey
Hamline Midway Coalition (HMC) would like to gauge community interest in creating a commercial Real Estate Investment Cooperative (REIC) in the Hamline Midway neighborhood.
An REIC allows individuals to pool their money and energy to invest in real estate for the benefit of their neighborhood. It is an alternative investment option for neighbors who prefer to put their resources to work for a financial return closer to home. It also reduces the extraction that occurs when local businesses have to pay their rent to far-off landlords instead of that money staying in the neighborhood. Additionally, cooperative models have the potential to support a more inclusive economic justice culture and value the market contributions of people from more income levels.
For more information about REICs, visit
and/or watch the Hamline Midway Learning Session on REICs. Please contact HMC staff at REIC@HamlineMidway.org for questions.
NOTE: Individual survey responses will NOT be public. Compiled data will be shared with the HMC board and community. Please send questions to REIC@HamlineMidway.org.
