Many reptiles live longer than 15 years in captivity, many snakes live 30-40+ years in captivity and some tortoises live more than 100 years. Are you ready to take responsibility for the animal you adopt for it's entire life? How will you do this? What if you go on vacation? *
Your answer
Some reptiles can get very large and require very large custom built enclosures. If you are looking to adopt a larger species reptile (savannah monitor, iguana, sulcata or large constrictor), are you prepared to build them an appropriately sized custom enclosure that can house them as a full grown adult for the duration of their life? *
Your answer
Please describe the habitat and feeding regimen you have prepared (or plan to prepare) for the animal you wish to adopt. We need a list with specifics of your feeding regimen, setup and equipment. Please do not put "Appropriate sized enclosure with heating equipment." Or expect us to provide this information for you. We are looking for specifics on the enclosure size, type (ie. tank, custom built, etc), type of equipment, (heat lamp, uvb light, heat pad, herpstat etc.), accessories (hides, logs, branches, water dish, plants etc.), substrate (aspen, cypress, dirt, tile, linoleum, etc.) and details on the diet you will be providing (mice, rats, veggies, fruit, roaches, etc.). We need to know you fully understand how to care for and house the particular species you are interested in adopting. If you do not provide us with this detailed information, your application will be incomplete and you will not get a response from the rescue. *
Food and water, feeding frequency, habitat size, construction materials, substrate, heating supplies, lighting supplies, humidity system, ventilation, furnishings.
