El Dorado Band & Color Guard 2024-2025
Please read through the following to learn about volunteer opportunities with El Dorado's Band and Color Guard.

MIB

The “Men/Moms in Black and sometimes our Minis in Black - siblings that come along to “help,” is the name of the transportation/support committee of the El Dorado Band and Color Guard Boosters. They are responsible for all equipment, instruments, uniforms, set pieces etc.  The MIB help throughout the school year.  The MIB are asked to help set the field for Football games, Saturday morning rehearsals as well as Monday night rehearsals.  During the Winter/Spring we divide into various groups and provide support as needed/asked. They are responsible for transportation of all equipment to field tournaments and games held at Bradford stadium. They also build, construct, paint, sew, anything the band needs.  Occasionally meet on Saturdays for deep cleaning of band equipment.  They especially need all of drivers to be trained in how to properly load a trailer and review how to haul.  They are in dire need of anyone who has a truck equipped to pull a gooseneck trailer.  This committee is on the field during tournaments and doesn’t typically watch from the stands. Committee chair(s): Tom Judd

Food

This committee works during the fall.  This team organizes and preps food for all the fall tournaments.  The food committee arranges for main, sides, snacks and dessert to be prepared delivered to the school or picked up from a local establishment.  Then they help set up the tables so students and staff can walk down the line and be served on their plate.  This committee is typically able to set up, do their part, clean up and still make it to the stands to watch the field show. Committee chair(s): Greg Martin

 Uniforms

Uniform committee helps measure and size the kids during band registration.  During Fall marching tournament season, this committee will act as chaperones on the bus to and from tournaments.   They assist with plumes and hats etc., at each event. Make sure all the uniforms are on the racks before we leave for an event. Handle any type of first aid that might be needed.  This committee will typically complete their task in time to watch the performance and then return to assist the kids with uniforms.  During Winter season - the same duties but smaller racks and no hats.  Committee chair(s): Tricia Johnson

Fundraising

An important committee as it benefits everyone.  This committee organizes fundraisers through the year to help offset the cost of the program.  Few examples include: Ball Drop, Penny-Wars, Spirit Wear, Holiday Gift Baskets, Wrap Booth, Opportunity Drawings, See’s Candies, Script, Savers, Golf Tournament, Virtual 5K etc. This will be no different.  This committee works in the background and is able to attend tournaments depending on the fundraiser they create.  Committee chair(s): Cindy Lin-Murata and Maria Gutierrez
