Bias can be added to financial systems due to machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. The resulting systems can discriminate based on this added bias. An accurate system is the one that provides accurate results, e.g., whether a certain person should be approved for loan or not? etc. A biased system is the one that is biased towards certain gender, race, ethnicity etc., e.g., males are more likely to be approved for credit cards than females etc.
