2019-2020 Preschool Application
The goal of the Blair Community Schools is to provide quality early childhood education for all students.
Qualified students of pre-kindergarten age may apply for participation in the district's preschool program.

Eligibility for Blair Community Schools preschool program is based on residency and age of child:
1. Must be a resident of the Blair School District - at least one parent or guardian must reside in the Blair School District
2. Child must be 3 years of age on or before July 31 of the year they enter preschool.
3. Child may not be eligible to attend Kindergarten. (5 years old on or before July 31).

Transportation is provided by the student's parent or guardian unless otherwise required by law.

Applications are due March 25, 2019.
Applications received after March 25 will be reviewed and possibly approved if space is available.

Families will be notified by U.S. Mail of their acceptance in our preschool program by April 5, 2019.

Eligible children who are not accepted in the program at this time will be placed on a waiting list should additional spaces become available.

Families who are accepted can expect to receive enrollment information at a later date to complete your child's enrollment in the Blair Community Schools preschool program. If enrollment is not completed by August 2, 2019, the slot may be given to another student on the waiting list.

Preschool Program Fees:
The following fee structure is in place for the Blair Community Schools Preschool Program:
Tier I - Full Tuition - $200 per month for 10 months (August - May)
Tier II - Qualifies with at least 1 Special Consideration (see below) - $100 per month (August - May)
Tier III - Qualifies with 2 or more Special Considerations (see below) OR Free meals qualification OR
Special Education qualification - $0 - tuition is waived

Special Considerations: (Section 5 of this application refers to these considerations)
1. Child has Special Education verification and is on an IFSP/IEP.
2. Qualifies for the free/reduced meal program (completion of the meal application is required).
3. Mother under 18 years of age at child's birth.
4. Home language is not English.
5. Child's birth weight under 5 pounds (must be verified by hospital or doctor documentation).
6. Child is in foster care or ward of the court (legal documentation is required).
7. Child lives in a single parent home.
