Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) is dedicated to investing in the leaders of tomorrow and transforming the lives of youth through the power of peer mentorship. YAY empowers volunteer youth mentors to be effective leaders, mentors and role models to at-risk and newcomer kids. Mentors gain the confidence, skills and connections they need to achieve their personal, academic and professional goals, while having a positive and profound impact in the life of their mentee.
The 2023 5th Annual Gil Orbach Joy Scholarship Program will recognize and acknowledge the remarkable contributions of our volunteer youth mentors, by providing two post-secondary scholarships of $1800 to outstanding youth mentors in our program. The scholarships commemorate and continue the passionate work of Gil Orbach, a dedicated YAY Youth Mentor for several years, who tragically passed away in 2017.
