What is the Wildfire Team?
Wildfire is a twice-monthly Sunday night event for middle schoolers are St. John the Baptist. A typical Wildfire night includes some crazy games, food, a short talk, small groups, and praise and worship.

The Wildfire Team plans and leads these nights. The team is composed of high schoolers who are committed to growing in their faith, and sharing it with middle schoolers.
What does it mean to be on the Wildfire Team?
Wildfire Team is about community, prayer, sacrifice and intentional living with Christ. It is a challenge to step outside of your comfort zone along with other high schoolers while encouraging and challenging each other become more fully alive in Christ.

It means...
  • spending the time and energy to get to know and hang out with others who aren’t in your friend group
  • stepping out in using the charismatic gifts
  • striving to live each day intentionally
  • reaching out to the middle schoolers and offering them care and support

Wildfire Team is a call to war—to join others, put on the armor of God, train and battle for the middle schoolers through intercession, self-growth, stepping outside of your comfort zone and then just loosening up and being goofy with the kids.
Who can apply?
The Wildfire Team is open to those who will be in 10th, 11th and 12th grade during the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Who will review my application?
Wildfire is a collaboration with our sister parish, Christ the King.  Applications will therefore be reviewed by Gordon Kangas (Director of Youth Discipleship at SJB) as well as John Hoving (Director of Youth Discipleship at CTK) and Amy Ekblad and the Core Team Interns at CTK.
