Thanks to the
Charlie Proctor Memorial Fund, MassBike is offering mini-grants to support community-led World Day of Remembrance events.
Applications will be awarded on a rolling basis, with a final due date of November 6, 2024.
What types of events are eligible?
- World Day of Remembrance events happening on November 17th or within November 2024 that remember victims of fatal or serious road traffic crashes in Massachusetts.
- Events do not need to be about a bicyclist fatality/serious injury.
- Events need to be open to the public
How much can we request? $50-$200 to pay for World Day of Remembrance activities.
What does the grant cover? It covers small necessities for a World Day of Remembrance event.
Suggestions for what funds may be used for:
- program supplies
- in-state travel
- educational and promotional materials
- food for meetings/events
- child care for meetings/events
- audio/visual supplies for meetings/events
- interpretation services for meetings/events
- translation services for informational materials
Funds may NOT be used for:
- Food expenses outside of food for meetings
- equipment (ex. computers, laptops, cell phones, furniture, construction equipment, etc.), except for use specific for World Day of Remembrance meetings/events,
- gift cards/coupons/vouchers
- any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office
- supplanting existing public funding
