Preregister here (suggested $5 donation at the door) for "Root Hog or Die"
This is RAWN FULTON'S seriously acclaimed 1973 documentary about subsistence farming right here, in our region, "ROOT HOG OR DIE". The Buckland Historical Society is having a professional showing of a completely restored/enhanced version in our now fully restored 1780 Wilder Homestead Barn Museum on Friday August 14th at 7:00 PM. The film showing will be introduced by Rawn himself and followed with discussion and refreshments by donation. By the way, the film's title comes from one of the old Yankee Farmer's late winter resolve that there's really not enough food to feed his family, let alone feed the hogs. He then turns 'em out to pasture and suggests to 'em woefully, "Root Hog or Die". You will recognize several local family farm names as subsequent generations have continued to work the farms.

With much thanks, this 1973 local documentary showing is cosponsored by the Franklin Land Trust.

7:00 PM Friday August 14th at the now fully restored Wilder Homestead 1780 Barn Museum, 129 Rt 112, Buckland, MA 01338. A suggested donation of $5 or more at the door would be welcomed.

Thank you for preregistering here.
