The Scottish freshwater 'Climate Factsheet'
The Scottish Freshwater Group Climate Action Team is producing a climate change fact sheet. We intend it to be used by influencers and decision makers to help limit the impacts of climate change on Scotland’s freshwaters. If we can collate and organise the current evidence (of impacts and solutions) and raise awareness of the facts, we will be supporting more informed decision-making and a stronger position of influence.

We all know that climate change is a massive and complex issue. It presents a major systemic challenge embracing the whole spectrum of science, policy and practice. But we have been inspired by the huge amount of freshwater expertise across the SFG and we are looking to draw on your collective knowledge.

Our objective is a collection of “Climate Facts”, drawn largely from journals and reports, and focussed on (a)Evidence of climate change impacting Scotland's freshwaters; and (b)Evidence of effective mitigation or adaptation solutions for Scotland.

We are particularly looking for “transferable” project or site-based examples (rather than summaries of statistics from wider UK national surveys). This includes data from projects implemented on the ground in Scotland; and/or derived from modelled environments in Scotland. These are the data we feel would have the greatest impact.

This will only work if the latest evidence is brought to our attention by you, the members of SFG! We have developed this form so that you can easily submit a 'Climate Fact' for inclusion. Any evidence however local or small scale is appreciated.
