"That You May Know": A Study of I John
The first letter of John explains the foundational principles of Christianity and what it means to have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. John was an inspired apostle, meaning the words he wrote in this book were official and true statements from God.

The book has several keywords that John uses throughout his writing. These words are a good way to see the main themes through his letter and what it means to be a child of God. We will begin our study with an overview of these keywords, followed by five lessons: one for each chapter in this book of the Bible.

Answer the following questions before reading, or as you read, I John. Feel free to use Bible.com to read on your computer or device if you don't have a Bible handy; we recommend using the New American Standard (NASB) or English Standard Version (ESV). If you aren't sure of the answer, simply put "not sure" or "I don't know." When you submit this form, one of our preachers will review your answers, provide follow-up comments and send you the next lesson in this course.
