Community Service (2-4 standing committee members)
Stays abreast of volunteer opportunities and needs of the community and region. Organizes community service projects such as the Adopt-A-Highway clean up, food bank donations, etc. ENMR Steering Committee Community Liaison is the ex officio chair of this committee.
Education (2-4 standing committee members)
Stays abreast of local school board (Clovis, Portales, Melrose, etc.) agendas and issues discussed on these agendas. Appoints rotating volunteers to attend school board meetings as available. Cascades information to the larger group as necessary. Serves as a liaison with issues of student/teacher advocacy as necessary.
Elections/Government (5-8 standing committee members)
Stays abreast of local government issues and monitors upcoming meeting agendas for city/county government. Appoints rotating volunteers to attend city commission/city council and county government meetings as available. Cascades information to the larger group as necessary. Serves as a liaison for and provides information and support to individuals interested in running for local government positions. During the NM Legislative session, provides updates to the larger group on any issues of concern.
LGBTQ+/Pride (5-8 standing committee members)
Coordinates monthly LGBTQ+ Social events; Coordinates annual Pride Steering Committee and ensures committee planning stays on task (Pride Week Steering Committee made up of additional/different members). Serves as a liaison to the larger group for LGBTQ+ youth advocacy and other issues as they arise.
Website Updates/Maintenance (1-2 standing committee members)
Keep the ENMR website up to date (not responsible for ENMR social media). Keep the ENMR Google Calendar up to date. Communicate regularly with the steering committee regarding updates and issues/concerns. Requires volunteers with web design knowledge/experience.
