Shelley O’Carroll Award for Early Literacy - Under-Resourced Category
This award is made to the individual, project, organisation, unit/center or team whose research and/or practice has contributed to understandings of how the literacy of young South African children can be developed and supported. The focus of the award is on under-resourced children or population groups, under-resourced/ underrepresented language groups and/or non-traditional spaces for literacy. The spirit of the award acknowledges the excellent but largely unrecognised work researchers and practitioners are doing in the early literacy space with ECD practitioners.
