The Historical Research Methods class at Fort Hill High School is producing a documentary on the Greatest Generation. We are seeking local individuals from the community and the surrounding areas who epitomize what it means to be a member of the Greatest Generation.
The Greatest Generation has had a profound impact on American history. Unfortunately, we are beginning to lose them. The Greatest Generation includes those who were born from the year 1910 to 1940 and experienced major events such as the Great Depression and World War II during the early years of their lives. This generation would be shaped by these great historical events and would go on to lead incredible lives of resiliency, service, and dedication to our community and nation that would have an unfathomable mark on our history.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Fort Hill Historical Research Methods class. From these nominees, 6 will be chosen to be featured in the documentary. While not all nominees will be featured in the documentary, we plan to honor every nominee at the documentary premiere in May, a date which we will notify you about in the Spring. Unfortunately, we have already begun to lose a large part of this generation, thus 1 of the 6 spots will be reserved to honor someone posthumously. Please feel free to nominate someone for that honor.
Those nominees selected to be featured in the documentary will be video interviewed by students in the class. We will also need photographs from this persons life which we can use to tell their story in the documentary.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to fill out the nomination form. We will be in touch with you, utilizing the email provided.
Application Deadline: Friday, January 4, 2019.
